Drywall services, start to finish.
Seven core services, residential and commercial, backed by nineteen years of doing this in the Pensacola area.
Hanging
New construction and renovation drywall installation. Panels hung square, properly fastened, and ready for a clean finish — the foundation everything else depends on.
- What board goes where?
- Standard 1/2" board for most walls and ceilings, 5/8" fire-rated where code calls for it — garage walls shared with living space, some multi-family assemblies — and moisture-resistant board in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other wet areas.
- How long does a typical job take?
- A single room usually hangs in a day. A full addition or a multi-room remodel runs several days depending on size and access. We'll give you a real timeline once we've seen the space.
- Can you work around an occupied building or a GC's schedule?
- Yes — property managers and general contractors both need work coordinated around tenants, other trades, and inspections, and that's normal for us, not a special request.
Finishing
Taping, mudding, and sanding to a smooth, paint-ready surface. No visible seams, no ridges catching the light once the paint goes on.
- Level 4 or Level 5 finish — what's the difference?
- Level 4 is the standard most walls need under flat or lightly textured paint. Level 5 adds a full skim coat over the whole surface and is worth spec'ing where harsh raking light, a high-gloss paint, or a dark color would otherwise show every seam.
- How soon can I paint after finishing?
- Once the final coat is dry and sanded — typically a day or two, longer in high humidity — it's ready for primer.
- How much dust should I expect?
- Sanding is the messy step. We contain what we can, but plan on some fine dust nearby and keep the area you can close off clear of anything you don't want covered.
Texturing
Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, and other common finishes, matched to what's already on the rest of the space.
- Will a patch actually match my existing texture?
- Matching texture is closer to a craft than a formula — pattern, spray pressure, and drying time all affect the result. We test the pattern on the patch area before committing to the whole wall or ceiling.
- Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel — what's the difference?
- Knockdown sprays on and gets flattened for a mottled, low-profile look. Orange peel stays as fine, even bumps straight off the sprayer. Skip trowel is hand-applied for a heavier, more irregular texture. Which one's right depends on what's already there.
- Can texture be removed instead of matched?
- Yes — smoothing a textured wall or ceiling down to a flat, paint-ready surface is a separate option if you'd rather not match the existing pattern at all.
Popcorn Removal
Popcorn ceiling scraped clean, patched, and re-textured or left smooth for paint — with dust containment so the rest of the room stays livable.
- Could my popcorn ceiling contain asbestos?
- Homes and buildings finished before the early 1980s sometimes have it in the original texture. We recommend testing an older ceiling before work starts — if it comes back positive, that's specialized abatement, a different job from standard removal.
- How disruptive is the process?
- We contain the work area and cover what's nearby, but scraping a ceiling is genuinely messy — plan on the room being out of use for the day.
- What does the ceiling look like afterward?
- Your call — smooth and flat, or re-textured to match the rest of the space. Either way it's left paint-ready.
Painting
Interior and exterior painting to finish the job we started — prep, primer, and a clean cut line, done by the same crew that hung and finished the walls.
- How many coats will I need?
- Two coats over primer covers most color changes. A bold or dark color going over something lighter — or the reverse — can need a third to look even under real light, not just fresh off the roller.
- Do you offer low-odor or low-VOC paint?
- Yes, available on request — worth asking about if anyone in the home or building is sensitive to fumes, or the space needs to stay in use during the job.
- Is exterior painting weather-dependent here?
- Florida humidity and rain are the real scheduling constraint, not temperature. We plan exterior work around a dry stretch so the paint cures properly instead of trapping moisture.
Stucco
Exterior stucco for Florida homes and commercial buildings — built to handle the coastal climate, not just look good on move-in day.
- Why does stucco crack, and can it be fixed invisibly?
- Hairline cracks from normal settling and thermal movement are common and not usually structural. A properly patched repair is textured and colored to blend into the surrounding wall rather than standing out as an obvious fix.
- Is this traditional stucco or EIFS (synthetic)?
- The repair method differs between the two, so it's worth confirming which one you have — traditional cement-based stucco and synthetic EIFS systems aren't interchangeable.
- Is there a bad time of year for stucco work in Florida?
- Stucco needs a dry stretch to cure properly, so we work around Florida's rainy season rather than through it — heavy rain during application or early cure is the main thing that can compromise a job.
Wallpaper Removal
Old wallpaper stripped down to a clean, paint-ready wall — glue residue and all, not just the top layer.
- Will removing wallpaper damage my drywall?
- Older paper installed straight onto unprimed drywall can pull the paper surface off with it if it's rushed. We use the right method for what's underneath so the wall comes out intact, not gouged.
- What about the glue left behind?
- Paper is only half the job — leftover adhesive shows through paint if it's not fully removed. We wash and scrape the wall down to bare, clean drywall before calling it done.
- Do I need drywall repair after the wallpaper comes off?
- Sometimes — years-old paper can hide dents, seams, or water stains. If we find damage under the paper, we can patch and finish it as part of the same job.
